We’re a brand-new publishing house, officially launching in January 2025. We’re excited to start this journey and offer authors an alternative to the current choices.

 The goal of A Big Five House is to provide authors with opportunities that have been lost in the age of social media. We prioritize the quality of storytelling over social media following and aim to create a space where great books can shine. 

 hat kind of books are you looking to publish?We publish both fiction and nonfiction in all genres—except horror and erotica. We are a clean fiction publisher, so please no foul language in your manuscript.

No, we do not require agents. We welcome direct submissions from authors.

Start by sending us a query email with a brief overview of your manuscript. If we’re interested, we’ll request the full manuscript. However, submitting a query does not guarantee a contract. Only complete manuscripts will be considered—please do not query until your book is finished.

Our response times depend on our workload, but you can expect feedback anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks.

If we decide to move forward, we will contact you via to offer a contract, which can be sent via email or physical mail.

Royalties are paid 6 months after the sale, minus any returns. We receive payments from the distributor roughly 120 days after a sale is made (around 90 days after the end of the month in which a sale is made), and you’ll receive your royalty payment within 45 days of that.

 We collaborate closely with the author to bring the manuscript to its best possible form. The author will approve edits before finalizing. For cover design, we may incorporate the author’s ideas but maintain final approval due to industry trends and design standards. 

  Books will be available through Amazon, and made available to bookstores (though we cannot control which stores carry them), libraries, and directly through our website.

Signed copies can be arranged by reaching out to the author directly, attending bookstore signings, or by participating in other special events.

We generally sign 5-year contracts to allow sufficient time to recoup our investments. In exceptional cases, a contract cancellation may be negotiated before the book goes to print.

We focus on a mix of marketing strategies, including press releases to local and sometimes national media, social media ads, promotional videos, and ongoing efforts to drive traffic to our website and showcase our authors' works.

We maintain high standards by only accepting manuscripts that pass our stringent editing processes and producing them with carefully considered cover designs. We strive to create books that both the author and we can be proud of.
